Italian Geometries

While studying at the Studio Arts College International in Florence, Italy I set out to explore the edges of the city. I sought fortuitous moments and focused my attention on the uncanny. The subjects of these images have been taken out of context and abstracted. It is my intent that they should invite ambiguity by omitting as much information as they include.
I am intrigued by what is left behind in humanity's wake. My interest in documenting visual non-sequiturs resulted in these images of reticent, ambiguous fragments; objects stripped of their original purposes that are incongruous with their surroundings. I find that when things stop being useful, they start to be.
The subjects of my pictures disclose themselves in the in-between spaces.
